Lorenzo Hernández is a founding partner of Mirlo, where he heads the Energy department and co-heads the Corporate/M&A department.
A lawyer since 2007, Lorenzo has nearly twenty years of professional experience, gained mainly between Madrid and Mexico City. Throughout his career he has served as partner, country manager and regional director, combining legal practice with team leadership and international business development.
He specialises in Corporate and M&A, cross-border transactions and energy. In the energy sector he advises on all legal aspects of the development, acquisition, financing and operation of projects, including M&A transactions, PPAs, EPC contracts, regulatory matters and project finance. Over the course of his career he has worked on renewable energy projects totalling several GW of capacity.
He also regularly advises Spanish companies on their investments and expansion in Mexico and Latin America, and Mexican and Latin American groups on their establishment and growth in Spain. His practice combines legal advice with the end-to-end coordination of international transactions and projects, working directly with investors, companies, financial institutions, advisers and local teams.
Before joining Mirlo, Lorenzo spent almost two decades at an international firm, where he opened and led its Mexico office, later heading its Mexico and United States offices and taking on regional and business development responsibilities in Latin America.
Since 2016 he has been Secretary of the Board of Directors of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Mexico, and he is qualified to practise law in both Spain and Mexico.
Lorenzo speaks Spanish and English.
